A magnetic reed switch is a type of magnetic sensor which responds to the presence of a magnetic field. Magnetic reed sensors are arguably the most common type of sensor used within pneumatic cylinders and are a proven technology within the industry. Using state-of- the-art magnetic sensing technology, these switches are designed for use with cylinders that have a magnet incorporated in the cylinder piston. They can be used to provide cylinder position indication, cycle count, or to confirm operation.
