5/3 Way Double-Solenoid Pneumatic Valve
A versatile directional control valve with three positions and five ports, designed for precise control of double-acting pneumatic actuators. Equipped with dual solenoids, it enables controlled extension, retraction, and a defined neutral (center) state.
How It Works
- 5 ports:
- P (Pressure/Inlet)
- A & B (Outputs)
- R & S (Exhausts)
- 3 positions:
- Solenoid 1 energized → P connected to A, B exhausts (forward motion)
- Solenoid 2 energized → P connected to B, A exhausts (reverse motion)
- Neutral (center position) → Valve returns to predefined center condition
- Double solenoid (bi-stable)
Valve remains in last actuated position until switched or returned to center (design dependent)
Center Configuration Options
- Closed Center → All ports blocked (holds actuator position)
- Exhaust Center → A & B connected to exhaust (free movement)
- Pressure Center → Both A & B pressurized (balanced holding force)
